A quick review of the Sunspel / Dr Martens Polo Shirt mentioned previously in the News section.

I ordered mine in Oxblood from the Dr Martens website, as Sunspel was out of stock on one or two sizes (this is a limited run, so once they're gone, they're gone). Delivery took 3 days, with excellent service from DPD Couriers (SMS and email notification of the 1 hour slot they would be delivering the item - and it arrived within the slot).

The shirt arrived in a large Dr Martens box, which was a bit of overkill but I guess is sized for shoe and boot deliveries, which will be more normal for Airwair / Dr Martens. Inside the large box was another shirt-sized box, a stout item with the Sunspel / Dr Martens logo (see picture). Inside that was the shirt in a clear cellophane envelope. The shirt is perfectly folded and ironed, with a card label attached to the tag.

Overall, the packaging and presentation is classy, unfussy and says quality. A good start.

The shirt itself seems very well made, with hems perfectly straight and no loose threads. The woven material is less coarse than many Polo shirts (to quote the website: "This beautifully crafted pique polo shirt in ox blood red, with complimentary yellow tipping is constructed from our finest lightweight cotton pique, woven from 100% long staple cotton to ensure an exceptional finish"). It seems a medium weight fabric, and nicely resistant to creasing.

I summary, this shirt seems pretty good value for money - not cheap, but then that can't be expected of any item that is Made in England.
